Living up to the name, The Rum Shack has over 100 types of well…rum… for revellers to enjoy a taste of the Caribbean while stuck in sunny sunny Glasgow.

For many though the real star of the show is the pubs dancehall, with capacity of 220 it is the perfect spot for a local gig, comedy shows and your next work night out – it even plays host to community markets and theatre events.

I personally had the chance to see Glasgow’s finest: Declan Welsh and the Decadent West, perform at The Rum Shack as the Southside gig for the ‘World Tour of Glasgow’, and like all of their performances it completely knocked the roof off the venue.

I’m not the only one who has had an incredible time at The Rum Shack, it boasts a 4.5 star rating on Google after nearly 1,000 responses, with one saying: “Wow, what a terrific find!”

Others commented on the food and the friendliness of the staff, others praising the venue’s themed reggae nights and cocktail offerings.

It’s clearly popular with both tourists and locals, with one reviewer saying that on their two day trip to Glasgow, they spent both nights at The Rum Shack! One local now living Glasgow but originally from Barbados said it’s a “must visit” for those wanting a taste of the region served up by attentive and friendly staff.
